Look Inside, Sometimes Its There
I left her on the blue shores of a dream
promising to return again
she sat down in the sands of time
looking at a sun that will never set
she held her knees to her chest
she rocked slowly
as she rocked, time faded
everything began to melt
colors changed from ethereal to bland
in that moment I wanted to turn around
it was to late
the blue shore ceased to exist
realizing I might never make it back
I fell to my knees, my heart cried
searching my inner being for a way back
I force myself to sleep
no dreams
just nightmares
walking through my psyche I meet a shadow with a map
the map is sealed with a soul
I must free the soul first
or the map will remain sealed forever
I take the map
I touch the soul
it feels familiar
it feels like a memory
the shadow stands behind me, waiting
I feel my heart begin to cry
the soul the map is sealed with is my own
the shadow takes my hand and guides me
hand in hand we walk down a corridor made of moon stones
my heart weeps
the shadow speaks of guilt
holding my chin she tells me to let it go
the shadow speaks of fate
holding my hand tighter, she tells me it was predetermined
tears from my heart are released through my eyes
the shadow wipes my tears away
the moon stones begin to light up
the shadow fades
the map opens, revealing a mirror
I see myself
standing on the blue shores of a dream
I stare at a sun that will never set
promising to return again
she sat down in the sands of time
looking at a sun that will never set
she held her knees to her chest
she rocked slowly
as she rocked, time faded
everything began to melt
