Reflection of Destruction
My shattered life lays in splintered pieces
scattered across my bedroom floor.
A fractured face looks up at me
asking what I can't ignore.
Pick them up, turn them over in my hands
see if any of it makes sense.
Look at things from the other side
to find the why I already know.
Nothing will go back together perfectly.
The cracks will fill and fade.
Never do they disappear nor
does the image look the same.
Smashed hopes, dreams and smiles
reconciled to hurts and disappointments
collaged into a new design that
feels true to behold.
