A day on our blue planet

Dawn blooms anew
With the colours of spring’s flowers.
As day blazes out of the vague mists
Of the twilight hours.
~
As our bright star; Sol
Steps free from night’s horizon.
Beginning his daily journey
Away from the darkness of night’s time.
~
Mirroring the distant horizon
With a water coloured scene.
Morning’s glory reflected
Upon the silken surface of a calm sea.
~
The day brightens and ripens
All of dawn’s painted hues.
Into the fresh crispness
Of summer’s sweet fruit.
~
Until Sol grows into the bright richness
Of autumn’s golden grains.
As he climbs into the canopy of the sky
A blue, as deep as an ocean~.

Everything sparkles with rich highlights
Turning the yacht’s hull into a pure shell white.
And making all of her wood and fittings
Glow like honey in the warm morning light.
~
Skin tones that glisten like honey on toast
Are caressed by a whisper of a breeze.
As the shade under the cloud of our sails
Promises an afternoon in cool relief.
~
Sapphire waves lap against the hull
Echoing the pulse of the sea.
And wonder calls to us
“Come in and explore the living beauty of the reef.”
~
Floating, dreaming of flying
We rise up through the warm weightlessness.
Weaving between the underwater flocks
Of the schools of rainbow hues fish.
~
Leaving below, the sharks and the rays
That ghost the canyons and the paths of the sea.
We break through the crystal ceiling
Of this magical octopus’s garden, once more free to breath.

Sol crowns the near by peak
Of a magnificent volcanic island.
In a memory of it’s fiery birth
As day falls towards night’s horizon.
~
As the rainforest and swaying palms
Shade and frame a tropical scene.
And the coolness of dusk’s shadows
Call to us from it’s multiple hues of green.
~
We are drawn by the cream white sands
To a pristine deserted beach.
To find the freedom and the relief
Only available far from society’s reach
~
We watch the painted sunset
As the sun and the sea, silently fight.
And see that vibrant green flash
That heralds the coming off the night.
~
Ester, the moon; rides into evening
As stars make diamond points in the fabric of twilight.
As the blue of both the water and the sky
Fade into the deep blackness, the winter of night.
~
The diamond points of the stars
Glow into precious gems of every shade.
As Ester lays down her stairway to heaven
Upon the steps of gentle waves.
~
Which later, will rock us gently
Into the comforting arms of sleep.
As another night fades into dreams
It’s another day in paradise, wish you were here.
