Nobody Cares, Right?
Just imagine this...
You have a few friends but they don't know the pain you share
You get bullied everyday and everytime you do you die a little more on the inside
Your grandpa sexually touched you when you were little and is now in prison
But your family loves you very much
Now imagine this...
You're sitting at your desk closing an envelope with your suicide note inside
Your crying as you lay on your bed and prepare yourself for what comes next
The next morning your mom knocks on your door when she doesn't hear an answer she opens the door and screams
Your dad runs in and sees the bloody mess he too starts to cry
Your brothers and sisters are wondering whats wrong and your dad prepares to tell them
That day your principal announces your death and hundreds of kids start to cry
But nobody cares right?
Almost all of the kids are in the auditorium crying and mourning
Your best friends are bawling
The popular girls who picked on you are blaming themselves
Your brother and sisters are blaming themselves for always teasing you
Your mother is blaming herself for always yellng at you and never trusting you
Your father is blaming himself for never standing up for you when you were always getting yelled at
Your ex-boyfriend is blaming himself for cheating on you and breaking your heart
Your bffs are blaming themselves for ditching you and not giving you more attention
But nobody cares, right?
Your grandpa is sitting in his cell when he gets a letter
It says that you commited suicide
He starts to cry and blame himself for what he did to you
For the next two weeks they play your favorite song in between classes at school
And at the end of school there is a moment of silence
for 'The Girl Who tried'
There is an assembly dedicated to you where it shows hundreds of pictures of you and your favorite things
The day of your funeral school is let out early
Almost everyone in your school shows up
You aunts and uncles
Your cousins
Your grandmas and grandpa
Your brother and sisters
Your mom and dad
Your best friends
Even the popular girls who bullied you
Even your ex-boyfriend who lied and cheated on you
Even your grandpa from prison who was escorted here on special permission
They're all there
But nobody cares, right?
Your family is mourning you for many months
When your mom tries to clean your room she fails and locks herself in your room for days
Your dad develops a drinking problem to take his mind off of you
Your brothers and sisters are left alone
The girls who bullied you are now ansthetic
Your ex-boyfriend doesn't date anyone for years
Your best friends cry for months and skip school to visit your grave every friday
There are news articles about you 'The girl who tried'
There are websites and blogs dedicated to you 'The girl who tried'
All the websites that you belonged to had an announcement about your death
When your online friends saw what happened they also cried
But nobody cares, right?!
Wrong
You are you and nobody can change that
So before you slice your wrist
Or take those pills
Just think
'How would the world change without me?'
