Deafening Silence

by gentlegirl

Silence is deafening
as i sit alone
breathing so softly
no one is home

Alert for each sound
touching my ear
senses so fragile
forever a fear

You're not coming back
Are the words I heard
how can i breathe
life is now blurred

Where do i run
where do i hide
what have i done
has our love died

Over and over
i see your face
tears like rain
so out of place

Smiling and happy
your usual norm
what have i done
for you to transform

Lifting up eyes
Lord for a chance
Please i beg
Just one more dance

Return her smile
and heal the woes
drying all tears
of the one i chose

Promises were broken
no longer exist
time filled with you
I promise you this

Forgiveness will come
each of us due
respect from the other
we will renew

Tears of happiness
is also met
with laughter from us
lest we forget
