Memaw

Memaw: Alan Foster

Golden  reflections of Heaven's sweet kiss resting gently upon her face.
Every smile sparks a warmth, every word a long embrace.
This sweet angel sent to Earth just for me.
I don't deserve this blessing can it be?

A love so pure, so genuine, so strong.
A woman sent directly from Heaven's throne.
Hard working, compassionate, and kind.
Seeing the whole picture even though in one eye she was blind.

A mother, a cook, a grandmother, a daughter, a wife.
Despite obstacles this woman knew the meaning of life.
Her cruel mind robbed of her happy places and certain activities.
It never got her down, she had the chance to make new memories.

Her children and grandchildren absolutely adored her.
Never a minute for love were we starved or had to suffer.
Just by being her she set forth a great example.
Lessons about life were taught that were so much more than ample.

She never asked for anything.
Her only thought was Lord protect my family and over them your protection song sing.
Hardships were in every chapter of her life story's book.
She never let it get her down, there was no room in her past for her to look.

Heaven came calling and said they needed their angel to come home.
No longer on this Earth was she needed to roam.
Now she sits above the atmosphere on a majestic cloud.
Up where it is not so busy not so loud.

She watches as guardian over the seeds of love that she planted.
She watched them grow miraculously, magically, enchanted.
Knowing the day is coming when we will reunite.
Oh to have her beauty to beheld again in my sight.

Everyday my heart falls in love with you more.
I love you more today than the one before.
I think about you and remember every word that you would say.
Even though you are no longer with us you are still showing me the way.

Even more beautiful than the parting of the seas that Moses and his people saw.
There really are no words good enough to describe my Memaw.
