the man of fire and dreams
he says hello to everyone
but smiles only at me
i turn away to run
and that's when he starts to speak
his lips so mesmerizing as he says my name, i always forget the rest
his hand on my face to tilt my lips up slowly
the blood red stones for snake eyes glinting off his necklace
just when i think he's going to kiss me
he says goodbye and walks away
disappearing into the night, i have a sense of foreboding that seems to last
as he leaves i am afraid
because he's left a signature in the grass
smoldering ashes in the shape of his shoes
eating through the earth like acid they form a fiery trail
as i follow him, i feel like a child
i have the urge to flee, but i just can't seem to bail
all i can think about is that almost kiss he left on my lips is driving me wild
the night starts to dim
and that's when i see him sitting by the lake, the moon lighting on his skin
and as i take my place beside him
he smiles and asks me where i've been
but smiles only at me
i turn away to run
and that's when he starts to speak
his lips so mesmerizing as he says my name, i always forget the rest
his hand on my face to tilt my lips up slowly
the blood red stones for snake eyes glinting off his necklace
just when i think he's going to kiss me
