Straight From The Heart

She's always on his mind,
a constant reminder of something better.
The thought of her itself,
has his head lighter than a feather.
He's hoping that she knows,
she's the reason he got up today.
In his eyes, she's upon a pedestal,
Perfect, in every possible way.
A great time and distance has been traveled,
to keep these two apart.
Though there is no power stronger,
than pure love, straight from the heart.
An expression of love,
here, is what he's created.
Through the distance-he drove on.
Through the time-he waited.
For the distance will eventually lessen,
and time will start to run thin.
And before either of them know it,
He'll be holding his wife again.
