Heart Upon Your Sleeve
Even though I’m not halfway there
It feels like it’s been so longer
Wearing a heart upon your sleeve
Doesn’t make you feel any stronger
This ocean seems so vast
But I’ve seen my share
Plenty of fish left isn’t quite true
It’s a bit more deserted and bare
Mind games have made me mad
I’d rather not play anymore
Some promise to play fair
But it’s all been said before
Unconditional is just a word
That’s been used too many times
Say it again to my face
And I’ll take it as a crime
But don’t write me off as an enemy
Of pure love and affection
Many have come and gone, you see
In every single direction
And now I’m facing forward
With my heart upon my sleeve
Ready for another true love
To come, use me, and then leave
It feels like it’s been so longer
Wearing a heart upon your sleeve
Doesn’t make you feel any stronger
This ocean seems so vast
But I’ve seen my share
Plenty of fish left isn’t quite true
It’s a bit more deserted and bare
Mind games have made me mad
I’d rather not play anymore
Some promise to play fair
But it’s all been said before
Unconditional is just a word
That’s been used too many times
Say it again to my face
And I’ll take it as a crime
But don’t write me off as an enemy
Of pure love and affection
Many have come and gone, you see
In every single direction
And now I’m facing forward
With my heart upon my sleeve
Ready for another true love
To come, use me, and then leave
