Don't
Don’t slice yourself with a knife and let yourself run dry. Don’t blow your head with a gun cause even when you’re dead, you’ll have nowhere to run. Don’t hang yourself with a rope with your feet only inches of the ground. You’ll have one bruised neck when you leave this town. Don’t take a bucket full of pills, that’s gonna be one giant bill to buy all those pills. Don’t jump off a bride, let me tell you, people are gonna be pissed. Don’t drink and drive hoping to die, you might survive and spend your time in jail. Don’t wear red to a bull riding show, for all we know you might end up with a horn through your throat. Don’t swim with sharks. I shouldn’t even have to tell you this, have you ever seen JAWS? There are people who care. There are people you love you. Have you ever read Dr. Seuss? You’re off to great places! Get out of this town! Just keep walking and remember, “Don’t mix your right foot with your left.” – Dr. Seuss. Don’t mix up right and wrong with wrong and right. Show the world you’re not afraid to try. Don’t go and say you want to die. There’s so much of life you haven’t even tried! Play with the flutes or jam on the drums. As long as you feel that beat you’re number one! Don’t go thinking all those sad thoughts. Write them all down and put them in a box. Now what you do with that box is all up to you. You can do anything burn it in a fire or keep it in a safe. Only you can think of a way! Please don’t be sad. Please be happy! I mean I spent all night writing this like an essay!:) Sing to the flowers or dance to rain showers. I hope there’s someone for you to pick you up when you fall. Well, now I’m sure you get the message. Find that key to life and be well on your way, to open those doors to a whole different world. Now I have to go. I hope you listen to this “poem” and just think, “Where’s that key to unlock those damn doors?”
My thanks to Dr. Seuss, who i spent an hour reading 13 books and soon came up with this.
