Say Goodnight To The Lady Of The Night
She walked the night to barrow the shadows,
to creep in and out of darkened bars and darkened streets.
keeping to herself till the mornings light.
But only to stop and take a bite.
Her first victim for the night,
an old man with such a fright.
Then moving on to the mornings light,
but before the break of dawn.
Her seconded victim.
A long blond with a vibrating scream.
But steel light creeps up over mornings horizon.
Her third victim for the night.
A lovely lady with eyes like the rising sun.
Shimmered as the light hit the horizon, and all turned to ash,
and burnt to a crisp.
As the shadows turned into light,
and the lady of the night was no more then a pile of ash.
and
so we say our permanent goodnight to
the lady of the night.
