Lesson Learned
This is a work in progress, if anybody has any ideas for how to end it, feel free to share.
See I never had the heart to do a good man wrong,
And I never questioned life I just live it right along,
And I rarely planned ahead I just took it as it came,
But it left me standing jacketless, in a heavy rain,
So I got soaked,
I learned my lesson;
Never take a step outside,
Now thought’s provoked,
Cocked like a smith and Wesson,
Never tell the truth if you can lie.
You know why? Because the truth hurts, at least that’s what they say,
And why go against something you’ve heard other people say?
Thinking for myself is so overrated,
I would try to change the world, but that’s soo outdated,
So I’ll rock my ray-bans and my trucker hats
Wearing v-neck shirts like a blast from the past,
Sticking with the trends, man, that’s the only way to make it,
If I can’t earn what I need, then I guess I’ll have to take it,
Bump the v-neck; trade it for a 45,
All those girlie-jean hipsters finna run for their lives
So I guess I got broke
I learned my lesson;
Never try to live your own life,
Now thought’s provoked,
Cocked like my smith and Wesson,
Never tell the truth if you can lie.
Now I’m running from the law like the grateful dead,
Friends of the devil trying get in my head
With a few wicked plans and their wicked ways,
So I light up some wicked buds and it goes away,
I slow the pace,
It’s a slow race; I’ll take my time like the turtle,
Life is full of obstacles but I learned how to hurdle,
Running like a track star for the checkered flag,
Finally breaking free of all the shit that’s held me back,
I climbed the rope,
I learned my lesson,
Never climb if you’re afraid of the high
Now thought’s provoked,
I tossed that smith and Wesson,
Never tell the truth if you can lie.
See I never had the heart to do a good man wrong,
And I never questioned life I just live it right along,
