Far to Young

You shouldn’t have gone. You should’ve been the one to stay. But not even the strongest wishes can bring you back to me. You were far too young to die slowly. You were only one. We tried and tried to keep you in good health. But not everything is what we wish to be. All the doctors turned us away saying you were fine when we tried to get you help. We tried to keep you safe. But even a mother who abuses doesn’t help. Bruised and weak you were slowly fading away. Your once tan skin slowly faded a sickly grey. Your happy smile turned to cries. Your once happy filled eyes slowly turn dull. The sight of you always stopped my heart. Every time I saw you this way my eyes were filled with pain. Cough by cough your lungs slowly shriveled up. Until you were fully gone. Taken by death, you were only one. You were far to young.
