Blankets of sin
Waking up with an old blanket
that was never mine
Laying there refusing to feel the fabric
the smell overwhelms me
the blanket brings me home
to place that has no heart
a place I fought long and hard to free myself from
somehow I'm here again
the blanket resurfaced to bring me back
back to a haunted past
a past filled with hurt
filled with tears
the blanket wraps itself around me tighter
I'm sweating and the memories flood my soul
here, pain is served for breakfast
for lunch, denial will be hot and ready
by nightfall
the blanket will cover me
this will go on for years
and years and years
how did I get back to the place love forgot
is time retracing its steps
am I to pay for the sins of another for the rest of my days
the blanket covers me
the blanket
a time machine into my personal hell
the blanket
fabric with a face
the blanket
covers of disgrace
that was never mine
Laying there refusing to feel the fabric
the smell overwhelms me
the blanket brings me home
to place that has no heart
a place I fought long and hard to free myself from
somehow I'm here again
the blanket resurfaced to bring me back
back to a haunted past
a past filled with hurt
filled with tears
the blanket wraps itself around me tighter
I'm sweating and the memories flood my soul
here, pain is served for breakfast
for lunch, denial will be hot and ready
by nightfall
the blanket will cover me
this will go on for years
and years and years
how did I get back to the place love forgot
is time retracing its steps
am I to pay for the sins of another for the rest of my days
the blanket covers me
the blanket
a time machine into my personal hell
the blanket
fabric with a face
the blanket
covers of disgrace
