Misguided Scum

Love,
What a wonderous fog to be in.
Love the way she looks, thinks, smiles,
And even the way her laugh brightens my darkest days.

But alas all fogs are stripped away,
When they are revealed to rays of the sun.

Men can never seem be with any one woman,
They must be with two or three.
We always hurt those that we love,
And when is doesn't work out, we try to return to them.

Some of us men intend from the very start,
Intend to betray our girlfriends, family, or friends.
A select few of us don't purposely betray our loved ones,
It just happens.

And with these select few,
There is almost always a select few whom feel guilty.

I am a guilty member of this group,
I am the scum that isn't worthy.
I'm too unworthy to even touch the mid covered shoes of my loved ones,
I swear it was an accident.

And although it was an accident,
I wouldn’t take it back.
The way her eyes twinkled, and the way she smiled,
It was like growing wings and taking flight.

All I have to do to relieve this guilty burden,
Is to yell it to the heavens.
But I can't even mange to make myself do that,
Because I would consider myself worse than scum for acknowledging it.

Scum, Scum, Scum,
Scum is all that we men are,
How do women mange to deal with us?
