New Orleans
Walking hand in hand in the French Quarter
as New Orleans jazz floats across the water
looking into your eyes, pools of jewels
loving the city and yearning for more of you.
Passing the shop windows on Decatur
Nawlin’s musician playing sax on the corner
crowd gathers in front of Café’ du Mond
the music fires our dance of desire.
Sitting at Pat O’Brians taking in the music
sun shining as the flowers begin to bloom
from hanging baskets on balconies above
sharing margaritas as in my ear you whisper
you want me, in time with the tunes.
Shopping through the madness on Bourbon Street
laughing and smiling while squeezing
closer into you, my teeth grazing your neck
as hands chart your curves.
Drift from each passing shop and saloon
sunny sunday afternoon
no where else I'd rather be
than with you in New Orleans.

Awesome poem Soul Man. You caught "the feel." We use to road trip to The Crescent City when I was in college....Young lads we were, drank 'Hurricanes' and had even more fun walking the Quarter.....
Thank you!

As per Kitty's comment, never been there and I also read a writer who makes the place sound hugely evocative, just as you do. You, your girl and New Orleans, well now and yesiree sounds about as good as it can be.

Thanks Harlequin. No girl at the moment but it is a place worthy of visiting.
