Blossom in the Snow

(Inspired by the poetry of Fallenangelsweapon)

Awkward innocence, shy and meek
Not quite woman, but still not a child

Swept up, adrift in the swells of emotion
Encountering first love, blossoming sexuality

All the many perils, terrors of adolescence
But brave enough to feel them, write it down

Pen and poet amidst the swirling maelstroms
Soothing our pain with such pure eloquence

How fragile and precious you are sweet versifier
A single budding rose against the blizzard

Like a blooming flower just ahead of her time
Peeking through the snow before your spring

Oh that I could step in and somehow save you
Rescue you from all the ugliness of this world

But I can’t, all I can do is read and admire
Adore the beauty that is your delicate solitude

Knowing that soon you shall prevail, blossom
Becoming the Emily D. you are destined to be
