too late
the fire raging in my heart
pain and anguish built up over the years
the brokenness and incompletion of my life
a heart of glass
a world of paper
internally stabbed with the glass
of my shattered heart
my world crumpling
being torn around me
lonliness
bitter tears streak my face
the salt of them lingering on my lips
falling to my knees
screaming
but no one can hear it
just when I think the pain is gone
a wave of depression washes over me
pulls me back under
drowning me once more
my eyes begin to close
I didn't think anyone could hear me
but you're standing there
too late to save me
I have always loved you
pain and anguish built up over the years
the brokenness and incompletion of my life
a heart of glass
a world of paper
internally stabbed with the glass
of my shattered heart
my world crumpling
being torn around me
lonliness
bitter tears streak my face
the salt of them lingering on my lips
falling to my knees
screaming
but no one can hear it
just when I think the pain is gone
a wave of depression washes over me
pulls me back under
drowning me once more
my eyes begin to close
I didn't think anyone could hear me
but you're standing there
too late to save me
I have always loved you
