Heart in shreds... but at least there's confetti
There are hearts lying on the floor
Just tiny shreds of pink and red
Scattered between the glimmer of someday dreams
Lost under the tread of many feet
All these pieces that might never meet
There are broken hearts lying on the floor
Swept under the rug of yesterday
Not a second glance, not even a chance
Just don't forget to put the broom away
There were all these shattered hearts lying on the floor
But not anymore
The tears have come, the ice creams gone
A pity party and feeling numb
But now that that's done
Remember all those hearts that were on the floor
There not there anymore
But...
They made great confetti
Like suicide notes or old razor blades
All those black soul poems and bad school grades
Life not perfect
And neither am I
But if I had a choice
I'd rather laugh then cry
Just tiny shreds of pink and red
Scattered between the glimmer of someday dreams
Lost under the tread of many feet
All these pieces that might never meet
There are broken hearts lying on the floor
Swept under the rug of yesterday
Not a second glance, not even a chance
Just don't forget to put the broom away
There were all these shattered hearts lying on the floor
But not anymore
The tears have come, the ice creams gone
A pity party and feeling numb
But now that that's done
Remember all those hearts that were on the floor
There not there anymore
But...
They made great confetti
Like suicide notes or old razor blades
All those black soul poems and bad school grades
Life not perfect
And neither am I
But if I had a choice
I'd rather laugh then cry
