Those 'of's seem to build up at the start of those choppy lines in waves that run over each other. Makes me think of when you look back into the past and get these isolated images and smells and sounds that all flow together. I love the phrase "dark waves eating through wet years". It's conjures up somehow that heavy hollow sound water makes when it slaps against rocks. Strange how easy it is to get bogged down and sunk in imaginings.

The imagery of rings as the pen follows the flow from one point of object to the next...I can see the poem making the rings...concrete and wet...good deal.
