A Rope Named Hope

Throw the rope
they call hope.
Morning star deaths not far,
hand the dirty ones bars of soap.
The moon is now here with an eclipse
children scream, just another premature apocalypse.
Minds made up, it's come this,
reaching out for pointless  bliss,
land is covered in secrecy and mist.
Chaos magic at Earth's core,
I thought this was forgotten lore,
evil is what I now adore.

Heaven & Hell,
can't you tell
which one has the louder bell?
She threw upon me her favorite spell.
That's when my mind began to rot,
I turned to leave, but I never forgot.
Hopelessly, trying fake keys to fit the lock.
Please now please, never fear,
for story time is drawing near.
Of sun and trees, clouds and rain,
and where the evil ones whence came.
Locked away they're now insane,
the stories are gone, but not the pain.

Day after day it seems I'm always in the way,
of people's elaborate schemes and desperate dreams.
Go tell the kings, go tell the queens,
It's never quite what it seems.
The friendly faces to the fiends,
you don't have the numbers or the means
to wage a war.
You'll wake up with another sore.
You'll try your luck with every door.
No one to help you anymore.
Fall in the grave and sleep.
Fall in the Earth, oh so deep.
I warn you, this vision, do not keep.

Tying lion's manes around bare necks.
Choking life with vanity,
spitting out filthy profanity,
watching good people succumb to insanity,
streets are now filled with calamity,
free thinkers have turned into casualties
out worst fears have become realities,
we're losing there's no more humanity,
only a faint toss.
A rope, we'll call it hope.
