Souls Mate

My own heart defies my mind
To explain its expressions
To make sense of this sensation
That pulses through my veins
A flood that uncontained would wash away all thought
To leave nothing but the feeling to impart upon one other
To speak the word of L before the fallout fell
So what's the rush yet what a rush?!
To be consumed in so hot a fire of desire
That passion merely stokes the embers ever higher
Each word of restless verse
Draws fuel from the souls
That meet their mate when falling sells control
of two hearts to one another
I am yours and you are mine but we own nothing on our own
This bliss, this want to touch our ghosts almost frightens me
Were it not for the sincerety of the words forged within our poetry
To you and to me we'll paint the skies with ecstacy
And on the dawn after the first night
Two hearts glow with a single soothing light
