A Second In Time

Must we kill our brothers with such prejudice?
Must we muster our arms and slaughter our children?
We hold the hate in our hearts in such a beautiful embrace
We cannot let go of the love that is forever hidden away

Listen to the children’s cries, to the weeping of purity
Innocence will never feel the sun’s rays upon its face
The darkness fills our souls like an ever turbulent sea
Listen to the children’s cries; the angels have lost their grace

Must we rape our sisters with no reserve or restraint?
Must we show our inner horrors to the biggest screens?
We chain our naiveté to the rotten ground and kill the saint
We must let go of the reins to turn our eyes to the sky

A thousand doves feathered for greed
A thousand olive branches burned for ceremony
A thousand fathers nailed to plagued creeds
A thousand sons imprisoned by their loneliness
