The Absent Last Step
Us outta touch
is like walking down a staircase
you imagine you are about to touch ground,
but theres actually one more step left
your sense of gravity
is completely erased
as you plant center of balance
into unexpected open space.
visceral feelings of pure panic
radiate from your gut
lasts a fraction of a second
but seems much longer
total helplessness, out of control,
insecurity, uncertain future
simultaneously hit brain
that fraction of a second
a life-lesson
to have senses of direction, balance,
coordination and proximity at all times
Perhaps Architects planned
that folks would have to bare
this terror for the shortest of periods
bein away from You
gives a similar feeling
that lasts for hours
You really out there for me Baby?
