Big City

I’m a small town girl
Displaced to the big city
Surrounded now by skyscrapers
And lights oh so pretty
The business men in suits and ties
Are easily found
But the real heart of this city
Is in the underground
When I was new to this place
I walked the streets at night
Marveled as I got lost
And took in all the sights
I was looking for a new home
A place to break free
A dance floor where the speakers
Throbbed and pulsed from the beat
So I trusted my feet
And I followed the streets
And well what do you  know
I found a dirty grimey lovely perfect place to go
I would follow pk speakers
from venue to venue
Didn’t matter who was there
Because the bass would befriend you
And I never really minded
dancing alone
after a few songs
someone comes and says hello
Asks what are you drinking
I say water on rocks
And I know what you’re thinking
No I’m not on any drugs
Unless you count weed
But man that’s just a plant
And if ya got some well I’ll never refuse
a puff puff pass
