People In My Life

There are very few people in this world I feel close to.
Very few people , indeed,
that I can say I think of wholeheartedly.
I am not saying I don't care for strangers, because that's not true.
I pray every night for those I have yet to meet
as well as those I'll never see.
But, it's the few special people I am blessed to know
that I thank God for because they're the ones who make me glow.
They are best friends of mine, family members too and also one special someone I plan to one day call "my boo."
We all have this close nit of people who either make us who we are
or highlight the qualities that will one day take us far.
Each person in my elite group
is like a special spice in my life soup.
They can call upon me at any hour of the day or night
and I'll listen or prepare for a fight.
They may request favors from me
but each one I will always do happily.
For without these people I would be not only lonely but also lost.
They have molded me and continue to help me and stop at no cost.
And although each person I am referring to is different as can be
they constantly combine their unique ways to help me be me.
