Pretending Petals Didn't Fall

Roseless stems
angled, straight, and frayed
all differing from me.
Roseless stems are drunkards -
dripping with defunct purposes
and poisons.

Bamboo isn't much better,
leaving welts on screaming
faces.

All too well the grass
and weeds navigate my
torso, as if I had one.
