I try to have hope
that I’m not as bad
as I think I am.
I try to have hope
that they’ll be okay,
though it seems unlikely.
I try to have hope
that I can do anything,
but I lose my willpower.
I try to have hope,
in everything,
but I fail.
I try to have hope
that I’ll continue to hope,
but I fail at that too.
I try and I fail.
Then, I hate myself,
and I am hopeless.
