What's going on
This is so sad
This cruel life
I've always had
It can't be fair
It never was
Because of what
It's done to us

It praises the bad
And hates the good
It gives them things
That truly we should
Get in return
For all our hard work
But all that we have
Is pain and hurt

So why does it happen
Why do we fall
Why do we anger
And curse at them all
Where is the justice
Where is the peace
Where is the one
Who can make all this cease

Abandon alone
I always will be
Unless there's someone
Who can make me see
What's going on
And what it all means
And how all of these
And unimportant things

It's all a test
To see how we trust
But honestly
I ask if we must
Keep living like this
Until it's the end
Or will we soon
Learn how to mend

So why does it happen
