All That Remains
Beyond the lights; in a place so far,
Beyond the pale glow of the moon and stars.
Hidden from the world above,
Alone in the shadows I’ve become.
Shallow breathes and fickle heartbeats tick away with time.
A constant reminder of the torment that is my life.
Efforts failed, lost my will to survive.
Pain has paralyzed me, beyond the possibility to be revived.
Continue to walk the empty streets alone,
Leading the way to my own headstone.
Submerged in sorrows, falling deeper down.
The waves rise and crash over me, as I drown.
Once you enter you can never leave,
This place holds you hostage endlessly.
No time for goodbyes, no time for regrets.
No struggle at all, no gasps for breathes.
When you’ve lost everything, death is all you’ve got left..

Feels like the entrance to a city you created. I'd really like to see how this fits in with other pieces that guide the audience through the realms of your necropolis. The perspective shifts from "Beyond the lights; in a palce so far," and then "Continue to walk the empty streets alone.", closing verse "Once you enter you can never leave," all bring up mausoleum imagery at every door-opener, so to further explore the architecture, bricks and walls created by pain would be slick, like Dante's Inferno.
