If I Could Show You
if I could show you my world
boy I'd take you everywhere show what'd it'd be like if I was your girl
if only you cared
I'd take you there
I'd show you the flowers down by the river side
I'd show the desert caves, take you deep inside
buy you some of Ray's ice cream
I could be like a dream
show you everything that's ever been important to me
show you how pretty the flowers are on my poison tree
I could show the willow's
that would take your breath away
I would show you my river
it's called the snake
I'd show the traintracks
take you way back
I'll show the abondoned tree house
down under the bridge
I'd show you the cat tails
and how they bend in the wind
I'd walk you down
show you my whole small town
and I'll show you the sunsets here
I'd show you how the there's so many stars you can see in the sky
I'll take your hand
show you how to stand
don't you worry about the rattlesnakes
just watch your step
let me show you the rest
I'll show you my neiborhood,
show you were I went to school
this is the house that I call home
look the roses, see how they almost glow
and these is were my brother hit the door
follow me down the halls
mind your step wouldn't want you to fall
meet my family
their nicer then they seem
come follow me out the back door
show where my room happened to be
take look the doors still broken
from where I took a bat to that one guys head
come and see the gargage my sanctuary
the only place I could be me
look there's the couch
where I read all my books
wrote all that poetry
hey look at this carved it when I was a kid
the head isn't perfect but my uncles were so proud of me
here's were I learned how to hotwire a car
my uncle taught me so many things in this driveway
now I have to learn things on my own
you woulda liked him
he showed me how to be me
here's the tree that held me
as I cried my eyes out, when my uncle died
the desert is cruel
but it's home to me
boy I'd take you everywhere show what'd it'd be like if I was your girl
if only you cared
I'd take you there
I'd show you the flowers down by the river side
