I Laughed Today

I laughed today
Wasn't sure I would
Especially after hearing
About random violence
In the neighborhood
I laughed today
Took me by surprise
There were two fatal crashes
Out on I-75
Why should i have laughed today?
Just no cause for glee
Two raging house fires
And homeless families
I know it's all so random
None of these I know
It's hard to overlook it
But my empathy still grows
Lord give the comfort
For all the tragedy
awaken the compassion
You can start with me
Spend more time in prayer
And on my knees
Giving you the glory
For the blessings
We all recieve
