saying goodbye
He stood there looking beyond the bridge. He knew he had to cross it to get to the other side. Though the fear started to build up he kept reminding himself that it’ll be worth it to cross the bridge. He took one step forward and froze. He got a scary thought. What would happen if he went any farther than he has already gone. Well, he wouldn’t know till he got there. He started to have second thoughts on what he was about to do. Was it all really worth it? Yes, indeed he was scared but he knew once it was over he wouldn’t have to do it again. His heart started to pound in his chest. It felt like his heart was going to burst. Taking a deep breath in made it all feel better. He took the next step forward. He stopped and looked into the dark water and wondered what would be waiting for him in the black abyss. He started to feel anxious. He wanted to get there as soon as possible, but he knew he had to take this very slowly, step by step. He couldn’t rush this because he couldn’t afford to make any mistakes. He hesitated to take the next step knowing that he might actually be successful this time. He slowly made his way to the middle of bridge. He stood there for a minute looking down the rest of the bridge. Slowly, he turned and put his hands on the cold railing and looked beyond the waters into the sun set. He took a deep breath and let it out slowly. Closing his eyes he imagined what it would feel like to be deep under the water beyond what the human eye could see. Opening his eyes he noticed that the sky was red like the devils eyes. His timing was excellent. It was time to say goodbye to this oh so cruel world. He swung one leg over the railing than carefully swung the other leg over. He sat on the railing and closed his eyes and felt the cold breeze against his skin. He imagined himself flying and let go. He let the black abyss swallow him whole. In this abyss he finally rests in peace.
