Adorable, But Not Mine...

There once was a beautiful girl
That walked into my life
She changed everything
And made me put down my knife

But the problem is
She doesn’t believe me when I say
“You’re as pretty as they get
And you get prettier every day.”

She doesn’t just have the looks though
She has everything else too
Again, she doesn’t think so
But everyone else always knew

That she will be great
At whatever she does
Because that’s how she is
And how she always was

I also don’t think
She knows her poetry makes me sway
But it’s only because it’s like her;
Beautiful in every way

I do think she knows I love her
But she will probably never be mine
Not because she doesn't love me
But because I'm not the best in line

So there once was this girl
Beautiful with a brain
She doesn’t think so yet
But soon it will all cover her pain
