His Story - Part 2
I remember those aqua eyes
How they were as green as moss
Then you cried
Out all your fears to me
I cradled your heart closer to me
Knowing all it’s complexity
How could it possibly be mine? I
feel torn unable to carry the burden
When another heart
Feather light
Caught my attention
My neglect caused you to fall away
All the pieces of you
Sharp, raw, exposed
Cut into me as I tried
I didn’t try hard enough
For you
Left you lying there
Wrapped up in you all consuming despair
I couldn’t bare to see
That gleaming green guilt
You’ll surely haunt me
Your flame glowing embers
