A faceless man
As I escape this all-pervading apathy
I find all that I see
Is what I always hoped not to see
Am I a faceless man
Or a manless face,
Am I something more
Or a waste of space
People’s flames illuminate the dark,
I feel as though mine is casting a shadow
The harder I swim
The more it tends to grow,
Maybe if I drown
A little light might be found
I feel like the washed out jeans
of some two-bit tailor
A man on a mission
destined for failure
Like knowing the answer
But not knowing what to ask
Like a rabbid wolf,
Or wine without the flask
A holy-man without faith
A limbo bound wraith…
I find all that I see
Is what I always hoped not to see
Am I a faceless man
Or a manless face,
Am I something more
Or a waste of space
People’s flames illuminate the dark,
I feel as though mine is casting a shadow
The harder I swim
The more it tends to grow,
Maybe if I drown
A little light might be found
I feel like the washed out jeans
of some two-bit tailor
A man on a mission
destined for failure
Like knowing the answer
But not knowing what to ask
Like a rabbid wolf,
Or wine without the flask
A holy-man without faith
A limbo bound wraith…
