The Client
A daily stimulation
Experienced by thee;
You have, yet again,
A task to tend to.
One that, in a sense,
Hits home.
You deny this.
A "customer" calls
In a crisis;
Pleading for your leadership.
Bargaining for your advice.
Their daughter has gone astray--
Cracked, split in two.
Willingly, you offer a few
[Or many] words
of encouragement.--
To the hospital she is admitted.
I couldn't help but envy
Your patron, they are compliant.
It is too late for myself.

The title really sucked me in, I was wondering what the hell a poem called "The Client" could be about!
