I Want To Lie

This curse will haunt me while I'm still alive
I live within a dream I can never explore
This feeling inside continues to thrive
In spite of the ache I want you more than before

If only I could turn and step back in time
To swallow my words mutating truth into lies
I'd rather choke pretending camaraderie’s fine
And hope you don't catch love hiding behind my eyes

What has been said I can never take back
My heart wishes it so but my head still says no
It hurts to admit all the strength that I lack
But so much worse is the pain from not letting go
