The Reason I Stay

They leave me broken and battered
I'm left here to die inside
Some day's I ask
Why do I even try?
Then I remind my self
I try because I have a misguided hope that things will get better
That there's a place for me in this world
If only i can find it
That someone will want me
That I can maybe save someone else from this

The only reason I stay is for Her
Shes only 10
I stay
To keep her safe
To dry her eyes when they yell
To be there when she needs somewhere to run
To make sure she doesn't
Turn out as fucked up as me

If it wasn't for her i would've run already
But for Her I'll stay
For Her I'd do anything
