Life vs Death

It starts with a ominous cloud. Fog shrouding the mid day with a bright orange hue with the smell of smoke enveloping the senses. An arrow can be seen stuck in the oak tree and swords can be heard clashing. The ground is littered with corpses and soaked with velvet blood. Armor rusting in the blood and the air growing saturated as the blood continues to puddle over the battle field.

The last two remaining soldiers, one from the red themed uniform and another from a blue themed uniform, fight to the death. A sword hits producing a spark on the instant it hits and then another. Red trips over, but barely dodges the sword. He wildly swings in desperation as blue evades only to back up  and nearly step in a whole in the ground. The two thrash viciously! Blue cut on the face on both his upper and lower brow of is right eye, while red receives a wound on the shoulder.

The fire rages in the background. Hisses could be heard as it spread ever closer with its angry red glow while it punishes anything in its path. It surrounds the warriors and battle grows intensely stressful. Red and blue already sweating to the point where it would almost be imaginable they could make puddles. The sparks of the swords almost unnoticeable as the fire overtakes the lighting. A small ring makes it almost for a sumo match as they try to push each other to ashes.

Blue finally with all his might and adrenaline pushes red out, but goes with him and the fight last nearly another 10 minutes. The pair already worn, their shiny suits dulled and cringed to the point of uselessness take their fight to the cliffs above a ravine. The abyss was the only thing standing out between the dying forests and grass that is greener on the other side.

The last clash of the swords and they break. Pieces of shining silver fly about in beautiful sparkles raining down. A punch here, a knee in the stomach there, the warriors continue to wear themselves thin. Finally both grab each other. Faces all cringed up from their hostile expressions, their grunting turned into yelling, and their toned legs moved. One kept on to the other until the end of the cliff. Down they fall for what seems like an eternity. The echos of their fear reaching out into the distance, and suddenly a thump. Corpses in the ravine lay like all the others, soaked in a velvet hue, their necks twisted, and their bodies put into odd positions as if doing yoga. Everything became lifeless with the exception of the crows.

Everything turned white as the fog rolled in. A few beeping sounds could be heard. Slow rhythmic beeping sounds while the last raspy breaths were still being followed.

The war was never won. There was no good, nor evil, but instead humanity as the fight to live from this persons sickness had become intense. Fighting whether to live or to die on the very last string of life. Tragedy has once again struck another innocent victim from a high fever in the hospital . While many more fight to the death, we never know when this war will be over.
