A Strange Something

It’s a beautiful day.
You sit there and smile.
You wave to me from my mind.
I don’t know you,
but something in my head does.

Nothing quite makes sense.
It’s fuzzy; unclear.
But what do I have,
besides the feeling that you’re there,
even though I don’t know you?

I’m not sure what to think.
Am I misleading myself?
Someone could be sending me your image.
Maybe you’re out there.
Maybe you’re not.

I see you, but I don’t.
I hear you, but I don’t.
I feel you, but I don’t.
I just know what you’re doing.
But, I can’t tell if it’s real.

So, you tell me.
Are you real or
are you just a figment
of a sad but hopeful imagination?
I want you to be real…

You remind me of home
in a strange certain way.
Are you hiding in someone?
Are you in someone I know?
Could you be in me?

Who are you?
What are you?
Why did I just see you?
I see you get up and walk away.
You’ve left my daydream.
But
…I keep wondering…
