The silence was deafening
Bricks and mortar,
I built them high,
Layer after layer,
Beyond the sky.
Inside was cosy,
With adequate room for one,
No doors or windows,
I made sure they were gone.
For extra precaution,
I constructed a moat,
Surrounding my four walls,
Ofcourse there's no boat.
Still not satisfied,
That my fortress would hold,
I implemented one final precaution,
To strengthen the mould.
Anyone that came near,
Would be driven away,
Artful at self-destruction,
Who would want to stay?
So now I am secure,
And all alone,
To enjoy the overwhelming isolation,
Sat on my throne.
I built them high,
Layer after layer,
Beyond the sky.
Inside was cosy,
With adequate room for one,
No doors or windows,
I made sure they were gone.
For extra precaution,
I constructed a moat,
Surrounding my four walls,
Ofcourse there's no boat.
Still not satisfied,
That my fortress would hold,
I implemented one final precaution,
To strengthen the mould.
Anyone that came near,
Would be driven away,
Artful at self-destruction,
Who would want to stay?
So now I am secure,
And all alone,
To enjoy the overwhelming isolation,
Sat on my throne.
