My day so far

Of course they think I'm  
Just a wee bit daft
Or crazy or strange
 
I keep telling them that
I am writing poems
About all this shit that's
Coming down and they say
That's nice or really?
 
As in they're really not interested
But politely say, about what
 
And I say
Person man woman camera TV
 
And the person is me
And the woman is Gaia
Just yesterday finally legal
 
And the man is the patriarchy
And the woman is the Venus of Willendorph which elicits squat
 
And the camera is Dianne Arbus
before she killed herself
 
And do I know what day it is
And I say it's the 93d anniversary
of the last full day of Hart Crane's life before he jumped off the boat in the Gulf of America and they say Who?
 
And the TV is Gaza dying
 
And then they ask me
If I know where I am
And I say paradise burning
Meaning California but they think
Honolulu and what day it is again
 
And I say it's the first day  
Of the rest of your bum trip
 
And they make a notation
And say, oh mrd, you're  
Just too much
 
And as for the TV
It's on with the sound turned down
And they keep sneaking looks
To see if the end of the world  
Has happened yet
 
And how about that judge
Who just got busted
 
And pope Francis planted
With a sprinkling of miracle glow
 
And that red haired lawn guy
Counseling this young couple
About the joys of making yr lawn
A side hustle or even yr life's mission
 
And they ask
Are you feeling any pain right now
And I say no everything is mostly
Numb.  
 
And then they make another notation.
