Maybe it was the idea of being in love
Or innocence conjuring an epic fantasy
That persuaded me to write and create
As if the words would sway some power
Like a wish
Like magic
And bring her to me

But destiny and life have their own plans
We all have different paths to take

We were so young
We were so scared
But the seeds had been planted
Time was a double-edged sword
The waiting
The longing…

Ten years later

We found each other
We felt that fire again
Even when the circumstances were on the way
The inspiration returned

Two decades later
Two thousand plus poems
Here we are
