Overcast

Constantly had rain given me anxiety
The heart would pound, shoulders tensed
Cold weather piercing through bones
The most dreadful time of pain
But
Once a fond memory in the downpour
A house in ruins, much to clean and fix
No electricity, no running water, only a mess
Happy was i to restore what the past destroyed
There
The dirty dishware littered about by your ex
Who abandoned this abode in disarray
Left for you to sweep, scrub, and wash
The storm outside couldn't keep my help away
You
Had no water for these dishes in need
Resourceful yet stupid decision was made
You stepped out on the porch in the rainfall
Heavy it was enough to rinse whilst I
Stood
There watching in full amusement
Happily dry but feeling left out
I joined you in the horrid cold rain
And there you gave me a sweet kiss
There we shared a moment in this world
Alive
