Your Silence

Today, like any other day, I'm running around in circles, thinking of you.
I'm hesitant to verbalise it out loud, fearing what others might say or do.
It makes no sense, I know, to yearn for someone long gone.
You vanished without saying a word, leaving me with just this empty dawn.

You took a piece of me, the part that loved you best,
The part that cherished every moment, every laugh, every rest.
I've tried to fill the void, but nothing seems to fit.
The ache within me grows, a constant gnawing pit.

Your silence is a heavy chain, that drags me to the past.
It's a reminder that I'll never find another love that will last.
I know I should move on, but my heart refuses to obey.
It's trapped in memories of you, night and day...

Yet your silence should be enough for me to stray.
