sunrise through the treetops
golden light awakes
something everlasting
in our common fates

slowly we're emerging
from seeming endless dark
once more we're resurging
each swimming like a shark

in a plasma ocean
in what's in between
everything everywhere
awake and when we dream -

sunrise through the treetops
golden light awakes
something primordial
something that creates

awe and wonder knowing that
the one god we can see
has not deserted us
allowing us to be

on this tiny planet
in this galaxy -
sunrise through the treetops
contemplatingly...
