State of Today
Wicked winds blow
As the earth shakes and trembles
Volcanoes glow
With dancing demonic angels
The ocean rises under the pressure of the moon
Whales beach themselves, welcoming death soon
Birds with flaws are our demise
The ones that walk and cannot fly
Sweet blooms on strawberry vines
Created in laboratories and tainted wines
Killer bees infiltrate from state to state
Swarming under Queen bee’s command
So full of hate!
The Amazon will find its end
Scientists received notice to pull back and resend
Families are left to break the law
Homes are foreclosed due to a flaw
Books are scrutinized and removed
Innocent minds corrupted and skewed
There are a few hidden from sight
Willing to go the extra mile
Fight the good fight
When tyranny presses an anxious mind
Negotiation is dead by design
The Garden of Eden is a beautiful death
What's the point if no one’s left?

The big picture looks bleak. But, it's the individual moments that keep us going.
