Corroded throat
Slowly closing
My screams eroding
Darkness imploding
All my schemes
Exposed

White gossamer wings
Flutter and
Flicker by
In a twilight sky
Heaven once held tightly
In a quiet sigh
Hope a whisper
In my tightly closed eyes

Every last breath caught
Between silence
And a dream once held in
Purity and grace
Tears slowly sliding
Down my face
As everything
Rusts
