The Ultimate Surrender

The Ultimate Surrender

Giving up
that last hurrah,
unlashing
every leash,

the toppled tethers
waste away
while leaving
only peace.

Then his thumb
dragged slowly towards
that tumbled
weather stone,

her breathing touched....
in silent trust,
and held her
as his own.
